Biography
Karina is a specialist in the screen industries with a particular interest in distribution and exhibition, sustainability and environmental impact of these industries, film festivals, screen audiences and viewing practices, contemporary censorship, and Australia and New Zealand cinemas.
Karina has been Director of the UEA Green Film Festival since 2022 (https://www.ueagreenfilmfestival.co.uk/).
Karina also has a strong interest in postgraduate research practice and pedagogy and is the Associate Dean for Postgraduate Research in the Faculty of Arts & HUmanaities and Head of the Faculty's Graduate School.
Prior to completing her PhD in 2012 Karina worked in a number of senior screen industry roles including as Senior Researcher at the Australian Film Commission (now Screen Australia), in business affairs for Columbia TriStar Television and the Film Finance Corporation Australia, and as a screen industry analyst for Deutsche Bank.
