Researches: Phonetics; phonological theory, especially of a non-segmental kind; the linguistic means used in representations of reality, especially syntactic alternatives; sociolinguistic aspects of phonological variation.

Key Research Interests

The focus of my research is the status of many theoretical assumptions in phonology and a concern for describing real language output rather than highly idealized versions.
