Personal profile
Biography
I joined UEA in 2022 as Relationship Manager for Medical and Life Sciences. The role is broad but at its heart is building and maintaining relationships between our academic researchers in the medical and life sciences and external organisations looking to benefit from collaboration.
I particularly enjoy talking to businesses who want to collaborate with the University but are not exactly sure how best to engage as it allows me to share the variety of ways that exist from short student projects to collaborative R&D and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) and ensure the right choice is made to get best outcomes.
Initially graduating with a BSc in Chemistry, followed by a PhD from Newcastle University in microbiological chemistry, I have worked in both industry and academia in areas of biotechnology before moving into knowledge exchange.
Prior to my current role I worked at the Babraham Campus, Cambridge and have since held various knowledge exchange roles at Norwich Research Park and New Anglia LEP managing a spectrum of activities aimed at brokering knowledge exchange and supporting innovation.
