Academic Background
Kotryna Garanasvili is a writer, translator and interpreter working with Lithuanian, English, French, German, Georgian, and Russian. Supported by CHASE Arts and Humanities Research Council, she is currently a PhD Candidate and Associate Tutor at the University of East Anglia’s School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing, winner of National Centre for Writing Emerging Translators Mentorship scheme. Her professional experience consists of literary as well as legal translation, including traineeship awards at the EU Council in Brussels and European Parliament in Luxembourg.
Research project: A Socio-cultural Investigation of Dialectal Literature in Translation.
Research interests: dialects, non-standard language, taboo language, translation, creative writing, interdisciplinary research
