I am an applied mathematician whose background is in industrial mathematics, industrial optimisation, and fluid flow modelling.
My research interests are broad, but generally speaking I am interested in fluid flow modelling and non-linear physics. Much of my work to date has been to investigate nanoparticle flow in the presence of heat transfer, or magnetically induced fluids.
That said, I am gradually moving away from classical systems, and focusing my research on more quantum systems. In particular, I have interest in non-linear waves in quantum environments. Such systems can be modelled by equations including the Gross-Pitaveskii Equation, Albowitz-Ladik Equation.
Practically speaking, I am interested in topological defects such as quantum vortices, and excitations caused by perturbations of such functions leading to self-propagating wave packets called solitons. My research in the current state is looking at travelling wave solutions and solitary waves arising from propogating vortices in low dimensional space.
Current Teaching:
At UEA, I provide support teaching as an Associate Tutor on a selection of Level 1 & 2 modules (2021 - 2022).

Previous Teaching
Between August 2019 and Febrauary 2021, I was an Honorary Industrial Fellow at the University of Leicester. During my time, I contributed to teaching across Level's 1-4 and also supervised a number of student dissertations. Such activities have been noted below.
Teaching
PA4602 (2019 - 2021) – Level 4 Physics Module. Lecturing and examining on component relating to computational statistics, machine learning, probability, and computational optimisation.
MA3511 (2019 – 2020) – Level 3 Module on Mathematics business project. Looking at applications of mathematics in industry.
MA2511 (2019 – 2020) – Level 2 Mathematics Module called “Business Applications of Mathematics”, lecturing on mathematical modelling from data, statistical inference. Examining and writing student projects.

Althought I have collaborations within academia, I still remain active in Industry. In January 2020 I became Chief Scientific Officer of Sigma Solutions, a mathematical and computational modelling consultancy firm based in London, and in April 2021 I was elected by the Board to lead the strategic direction of the firm as Chief Executive Officer.
In April 2021 I was further appointed Chief Research Officer at Exosuit Ltd, a progressive sports apparel brand overseeing all scientific development, and as part of this role, I am overall responsible for the scientific and technological functions of their subsidery Exosuit Horizons (R&D) Ltd.
I also am passionate about public understanding in science, and aim to engage in outreach.
