Biography

Dr Lucill Curtis is Director of Admissions, Course Director for the BSc/BA Marketing and Management and Lecturer in Marketing, within the Marketing group at Norwich Business School. Prior to joining the Faculty of Social Sciences at UEA, on 1 September 2017, Lucill spent four years teaching at Essex Business School. Prior to that she worked within marketing communications management for more than 16 years, within the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector principally and as a marketing consultant, where she achieved seven industry awards for excellence in PR, marketing and management. 

 

She lectures and teaches seminars across marketing modules for undergraduates and postgraduates, including: Principles of Marketing, Marketing Communications, Digital Marketing and Social Media. Her current research interests relate to the management of social media within SMEs. She has also published from her Master’s research which focussed upon strategy and marketing within business schools. She has also presented at various national and international management and marketing conferences. A pedagogical research project that she worked on was shortlisted for an e-Learning Excellence award in 2019. During 2021 she worked on a consultancy project, funded by EIRA, with a Norfolk-based distillery. The project focused on the online customer journey and experience, and made recommendations to improve brand touchpoints, enhance brand awareness and increase sales. Lucill holds a BA (Hons) in English Literature, Postgraduate diplomas in Journalism, PR and Education, and an MBA (distinction) for which she received a Chartered Management Institute Award in 2012. Her PhD focussed on digital marketing, specifically social media management in B2B organisations. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), a member of the Academy of Marketing (AoM) and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA).
