Personal profile

Academic Background

I obtained my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Eotvos Lorand University in Budapest, Hungary. I then completed my PhD in Cognitive Psychology at the University of Sheffield in 2020 under the supervision of Dr Liat Levita. After my PhD I completed two post-docs: the first one at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, US, in the lab of Profs. Monica Fabiani and Gabriele Gratton. The second one was at the University of Glasgow in the lab of Prof. Satu Palva. I joined UEA as a Lecturer in Psychology in August 2024.

Biography

Before my PhD, I spent 7 months in the lab of Prof. Dave Balota at the Washington University in St Louis, US, where I became interested in the topic of attention and attentional lapses. I then completed my PhD at the University of Sheffield, investigating dynamic adjustments in attentional control across adolescence, using behavioural tasks and EEG.

During my post-doctoral work, I continued exploring the cognitive neuroscience of attention, in ageing as well as young adult populations, using a variety of techniques, including EEG, MEG, and structural MRI.

Key Research Interests

I am interested in:

- understanding the oscillatory as well as non-oscillatory correlates of attention using EEG

- understanding the causal role of brain oscillations and non-oscillatory activity in attention using brain stimulation, e.g., TMS

Administrative Posts

At UEA, I am a member of the Ethics Committee.
