Biography

Megan started her post as Lecturer in Psychology in 2023. She has a degree in Psychology (BSc), a masters in Social Science Research methods (MRes) and a PhD from the School of Psychology at UEA.
Megan specialises in higher education student experience and wellbeing, with a focus on improving equity of access, easing transitional anxieties, and strengthening belonging for students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds. Her research and practice focuses on understanding students’ sense of belonging, confidence, and engagement in higher education, and building on her PhD Megan has led multiple initiatives that enhance transition, inclusivity, and wellbeing across the School of Psychology.

Megan's expertise also lies within Qualitative methodologies, with a particulary in depth knowledge and skillset in Thematic Analysis and Grounded Theory. She is also an active member of several institutional and national networks including the Education for Student Mental Health Network and the Student Mental Health Research ECR group.

Megan also has a keen interest in using qualitative techniques in health and community-based research, and how these insights can promote wellbeing, empowerment, and social change.

Key Research Interests

Megan's main research interests surround the higher education student experience, staff and student wellbeing/mental health, and hidden disability experiences.
