I am a biogeochemical oceanographer, specialising in observational primary production- export studies. Much of my work focuses on carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen cycling, particularly as mediated through plankton and biophysical interactions. My research is global in scope, but I have a special affinity for the Southern Ocean. 

There is power in utilising various different tools and methods. My methods are very interdisciplinary and include incubation experiments, culturing experiments, CTD observations, metatranscriptomics, bio-optical modelling, and autonomous vehicles (see the UEA Glider Group: https://ueaglider.uea.ac.uk). 

I am originally from the United States where I worked at the Virginia Institute of Marine Sciences (2018 - 2020) and completed my PhD in marine science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2020 - 2024) as part of the NASA EXport Processes in the Ocean from RemoTe Sensing program (https://oceanexports.org).
