Personal profile

Biography

Since I was a child, I have always enjoyed solving problems. Design, create, build, find solutions… in other words, make things happen. This is the reason why I chose to become an engineer.

I hold an MEng in Telecommunication Engineering, an MSc in Communication Electronics and a PhD in Electronic Engineering from the Public University of Navarra (Spain).

I moved to UK in 2016, when I joined the University of East Anglia as Marie Curie Individual Fellow. Since September 2018 I am Lecturer in Electronic and Electrical Engineering delivering different modules related to electronics and control systems.

Postgraduate research opportunities

I always welcome email enquiries from potential PhD students. Our research opportunities allow you to search for projects and scholarships and there is further information about becoming a Postgraduate Research student at UEA here.

Key Research Interests

I have 15 years of doctoral and postdoctoral experience in the field of optical fibre sensing. Specifically, my research interests focus on the design, development and fabrication of optical fibre sensors based on different sensing architectures.

I always try to develop my projects from a practical point of view, collaborating with the industry. My goal is to develop sensors that can meet real needs in sectors such as environment, transport, health and safety, construction, energy and healthcare.
