Biography

Millie Daviss is a Lecturer in Student Futures, Academic and Professional Education in the School of Education and Lifelong Learning, University of East Anglia (UEA). She joined the school in September 2017, studying her Undergraduate degree in BA Physical Education. In September 2024, Millie was appointed to a full-time role within the school where she also serves as the Placement Director, overseeing placement opportunities for the students within the School of Education and Lifelong Learning.

In addition to her academic role within the school, Millie is completing her PhD within the school, focusing on evaluating an intervention, which aims to improve wellbeing for young people, who are typically disengaged in learning activities.

Before being appointed into her role, Millie has had the opportunity to work in various different positions in different sectors, including nonprofit charity roles, health and wellbeing, and research. Millie also competes in a semi-professional sporting environment, and is an Athlete Lifestyle Advisor for UEA Sport Scholars, working closley with the Performance Sport Department. 

Teaching Interests

Millie's main teaching responsibilities are on both the BSc Physical Education, Sport and Health programmes, and the BA Education Cluster. Millie contributes to various level 4,5 and 6 modules including: Academic Practice in Higher Education (level 4), Studying in Higher Education (Re) Constructing Learner Identities (level 4), Professional Identity and Creativity in Physical Education, Sport and Health (level 4), Sport and Exercise Psychology (level 4), Research and  Experience in Physical Education, Sport and Health (level 5), and Professional Development and Community Practice (level 6).
