Academic Background
He is a Biomedical and Electrical Engineer working in the domain of data science/mining, AI, applied machine learning and deep learning and AI enabled internet of things (IOT), Industry 4.0, data analytics, signal processing to develop ICT (Information and communication Technologies) based systems for wearable computing, remote sensing, digital health and industry 4.0. Prior to joining UEA, Awais worked as a senior lecturer at the Edge Hill University, UK.
He previously worked as research fellow at EEI, University of Hull, UK; ICON, University of Leeds, UK; PHS, University of Bologna, Italy and visting fellow at GeMS, NTNU, Norway. He is member of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS).
