Personal profile
Biography
I am a short story writer and novelist who often works in historical settings and with a biographical angle. My second novel, Mrs. Hemingway, is a fictional exploration of the lives of Hemingway's four wives; my third novel, The Hiding Game, explores the artists and their milieu during the German Bauhaus from 1923-33. My fourth book is a collection of short stories focusing on contemporary motherhood, often during the pandemic.
I teach on the Prose Fiction on both the undergraduate and Master's programme at UEA. I have two PhD students.
