Biography

I am a post-doctoral researcher with expertise in tropical meteorology, extratropical teleconnections and turbulence in mesoscale systems. I am currently studying the role of convectively coupled equatorial waves in triggering extreme precipitation in the Maritime Continent (FORSEA). Previous works include evaluating the extropical response to tropical precipitation anomalies and using a tool based in linear response theory in improving climate projections (Real Projections). I completed my PhD in applied mathematics in 2019 in which I studied zonal jets that form under the action of beta-plane turbulence and showed how underlying eddy momentum fluxes arrange themselves to support the jet structure.
