Personal profile
Biography
Nicky Bridgham supports psychology research in the School of Psychology at the University of East Anglia. Her current role centres on engaging and recruiting families to take part in research within the Developmental Laboratory, with a particular focus on widening participation.
With a background in primary education and children’s counselling, Nicky brings extensive experience in working with children and families. She uses these skills to build strong, trusting relationships within local communities, developing creative and accessible ways to connect with families who may be less familiar with, or hesitant about, taking part in research.
She plays a key role in managing participant recruitment and coordination, including maintaining participant databases, liaising with families and community groups, visiting local schools, nurseries and playgroups and organising community family events.
In addition, Nicky is also involved in scheduling research sessions across multiple studies and training students in lab-specific systems and contributes to ensuring that all families have a positive and well-supported experience when taking part in research.
