1997-1998     MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice Midwifery studied at University of Surrey. Research undertaken: The views & experiences of community midwives who provide care for women who undergo termination of pregnancy for fetal abnormality

May 2008       Doctorate in Education, studied within the Centre for Applied Research in Education, UEA.  Research title: Exploring clinical decision-making amongst student midwives and newly qualified practitioners.

    • Module organiser for the first module in the PGCert in Clinical Education, HSC-7065D Enhancing teaching, learning and assessment in clinical education. This is an inter-professional module which attracts professions from all levels of medical staff, nurses, midwives, paramedics, dentists, physiotherapists, occupational health therapists and pharmacists and medical students who take intercalation from the MBBS programme

In 2001 awarded a University Teaching Fellowship with a midwifery colleague Amanda Williamson, to create an electronic learning package focusing on maternal and neonatal health.

1988-1996     Member of the Princess Mary's Royal Air Force Nursing Service working as a clinical midwife. In 1990 deployed as a member of the aeromedical evacuation teams in Operation Granby during the first Gulf War.
