I am passionate about education. I enjoy facilitating students to achieve their potential and developing new parts of the curriculum.
Current Positions
Director of Educational Strategy, Teaching and Quality Assurance
I overview education, staffing and teaching activities plus quality assurance and enhancement. I encourage enterprise and innovation. I liaise with the students, student advisors and staff to promote an outstanding student experience.
Course Director of Post Graduate Clinical Education Courses
I an the course director for the suite of clinical education courses. We offer a PGCert, PG Diploma and Masters in Clinical Education. Courses are available face to face, on line, full-time or part-time. The courses are opten to all health care professionals and provide opportunity to learn about educational theory and practice, and provide support to undertake work based reflection, projects and research. The PG Cert courses are accredited for membership of the Higher Education Academy.
Academic History
UCL
I qualified as a Doctor from University College London (UCL) in 1991. I trained as a GP in North London and joined the London Academic Training Scheme to develop skills in teaching and research. I worked as an inner-city London GP and lecturer at UCL for 10 years where I researched and developed undergraduate teaching in General Practice, and supported the development of University Linked Practices.
Norwich Medical School.
In 2007 I moved to Norwich and took a post at the Norwich Medical School as an associate tutor for PBL. I became a Lecturer in Clinical Skills in 2008. I completed an EdD at UEA in 2018.
