I obtained my integrated Master's degree in Environmental Science at the University of East Anglia, graduating in 2021. 

My PhD project aims to investigate the ability of integrated constructed wetlands (ICWs) to retain microplastics derived from sewage effluent. Initially, the project will compare two ICWs installed at operational wastewater treatment plants in Norfolk. A comprehensive 12-month field sampling campaign will collect water, sediment and plant samples from across the ICWs and neighbouring river channel. The project will also assess the efficacy of a Nile Red dye staining methodology to reliably detect microplastics in environmental samples.
