Biography

Sadie is a qualified Health Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS). Sadie's background and interests are centred around psychosocial adjustment to long term conditions and their treatments, person-centred health communication (including behaviour change conversations), and medical education (embedding psychological sciences and patient involvement). 

Sadie previously held positions as Lecturer in Medical Education, co-Deputy Director of Medical Education (Primary Care & Community), Academic Lead for early years MBBS primary care & community health modules and Lead for Primary Care Education Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) at UCL between 2020-2024. Sadie holds an Excellence in Medical Education Award and the Saad Al-Damluji Prize for excellence in clinical teaching 2024.

Sadie was awarded her PhD in Health Psychology in 2015. Following this she was Research Fellow and Visiting Lecturer at City, University of London. Sadie collaborated with clinical colleagues at Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Trust on research focused on the psychosocial adjustment and management of chronic eye conditions, was a Module Lead for MSc Health Psychology and Placement Coordinator for Professional Doctorate in Health Psychology at City. 

Sadie is a member of national medical education committees; including the Doubleday Medical Schools Patient Partnership Collaborative, Behavioural & Social Sciences Teaching in Medicine (BeSST) - and the Psychology Sub-Group for BeSST - and UK Council for Clinical Communication (UKCCC). Sadie is also Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), a Registered Supervisor for the Qualification in Health Psychology (QHP) and Honorary Associate Professor at UCL.
