Academic Background

Dr Salman Abdi completed his PhD study in Electrical Machines and Power Electronics in Cambridge University Engineering Department in 2015. He was then appointed as a Research Fellow in Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), Warwick University in 2015. He joined Coventry University in 2017 as a Lecturer in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department. In 2019 he joined the School of Engineering in University of East Anglia as a Lecturer in Electrical Engineering.

During his study and academic career, Dr Abdi was involved in several industrial research projects funded by Innovate UK, EPSRC, European Union and industrial partners. His main areas of research include power electronics and electrical machines design, control and instrumentation.
