Personal profile


Samuel Forbes is a Senior Research Associate in Psychology, working with Professors John Spencer and Larissa Samuelson. He joined the School in 2018. Sam received a BA in Japanese and Mandarin from the University of Tasmania in 2008, an MA in Applied Linguistics from Nanjing Normal Univeristy in 2013, and a DPhil in Experimental Psychology from the University of Oxford in 2018. His research focuses on factors that influence individual differences in infant cognition, including memory and language. To answer these questions, Sam uses a variety of methods, including eye-tracking, fNIRS and MRI. Sam is passionate about research methods and open science, having published on research methods, and currently co-hosts the UEA chapter of the ReproducibiliTea journal club.
