Personal profile

Academic Background

I am a PhD researcher in the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia. In my research, I study alternative ways of dealing with waste and materials in the UK. My theoretical focus is based on alternative organisation in general, and commoning in particular, both of which critically examine how we organise our systems of provision and social relations. More specifically, I look at how people and communities perceive and organise themselves around problems that the state and the market have either created or cannot solve, such as landfilling, litter, and consumerism.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Global Studies from the University of Gothenburg, and a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Sustainability Studies from Lund University. My research interests are heavily focused on alternative organisation and critiquing capitalism, but also on volunteer and community action, waste, and everyday practices.
