Biography

Selina graduated in Law & Roman Studies from the University of Keele in 1985.  She qualified as a Barrister and practised for 6 years in different fields of general common law.  During her career break to raise her family, she undertook a variety of teaching opportunities which led her to join the UEA Law School in January 2012.

Career

Whilst in practice, Selina specialised in the areas of clinical negligence, personal injury and family law.  Her reported cases include large group medical negligence cases such as Eli Lilly v Nash.  In addition to teaching core modules on the LLB course, her primary role at UEA has been in teaching Skills Development to the students to assist them to develop the skills required for their academic studies as well as those skills that will benefit them in their future careers.  Her assistance with the mooting and advocacy skills’ workshops as part of the Law in Practice Module has helped to prepare students for success in both the internal and external mooting competitions.
