Biography
I am currently working as a senior research associate on FOGGI-Fog Over the Indo-Gangetic Plain of India project. Performance of the UK Met Office Unified Model (MetUM), implemented with a 330m horizontal grid-length, is evaluated during various fog events in Delhi (India), the second largest populous and fast-growing megacity in the world. Also, assessed the perilous impact of oil and natural gas industry emissions along with the seasonal weather on air quality of the United States using the WRF-SMOKE-CMAQ modeling framework for the base year 2016 and the future year 2028. Involved in developing an operational air quality forecasting system first time in Indian capital city Delhi.
I have 12 years of research experience in the field of atmospheric and air pollution modelling. The overarching theme of my research work focuses on modelling the impacts of atmospheric chemical constituents at multi-scales such as local, urban, regional, and global. Also, investigating the linkages between air quality deterioration and large-scale meteorological features includes monsoon circulation, western disturbance, cyclones, anti-cyclones, dust storms, wild fires. Analyzed the model performances using both ground-based and space-based remote sensing observations. Furthermore, estimated the relative contributions of various emission source sectors includes vehicular transportation, thermal power plants, domestic, and industries.
Familiar with the following models: WRF, WRF-Chem, WRF-CMAQ, WRF-CMAQ-DDM, UK Met Office Unified Model (UM), and HYSPLIT. Various atmospheric data analysis tools have been using (NCO, CDO, GrADS, NCL, R, Python, etc.) to handle the large volume of datasets.
