Stephen Bazire was Consultant Pharmacist in Medicines Management for Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust until October 2014, when he switched to leading the electronic prescribing and medicines management project for the Trust. He was Chief Pharmacist for the Norfolk mental health services from 1986-2012, during which time the service started and developed many innovations that have since become standard practice. He is an Honorary Professor at the School of Pharmacy at the University of East Anglia in Norwich and Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. He has over 50 publications, is author of the "Psychotropic Drug Directory" (25 editions, over 490,000 copies sold) and was awarded an MBE in 2010 for services to pharmacy. His special interests include depression, bipolar, adult ADHD, automation and electronic prescribing in mental health, and user and carer information and education. He leads the www.choiceandmedication.org website, which has over 75 subscribing organisations world-wide.
