Biography
Steven Cherry has research interests in social history, particularly the history of health and medicine in Britain and Europe. His courses include Medicine and Society, Madness and Medicine, and Medicine and Gender Issues, along with ‘modern’ teaching on the Death, the Body and Disease special subject. He also contributes to the MA medical history pathway and is currently Director of the MA in History programme. He is currently supervising theses on Asylum history; the Perceptions of madness and religious mania; Suffolk doctors in the 18th and early 19th centuries; Care for the elderly in Britain and Japan; and Family reconstitution in south Norfolk.
