Academic Background

Dr Suzana AlMoosawi is the Fellowship Programme Coordinator at the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration East of England (ARC EoE), where she supports the development of early-career researchers and fellows across the region. She is also a Senior Research Associate, with a multidisciplinary background spanning public health, nutritional epidemiology, and regulatory science, and experience across academia, clinical research, and policy.

Suzana has held research and leadership roles at institutions including Imperial College London, and the MRC Human Nutrition Research Unit in Cambridge. Her work has focused on the design and evaluation of dietary and behavioural interventions, the analysis of large-scale epidemiological datasets, and the development of science-based strategies to inform public health policy and innovation.

Her research interests include chrono-nutrition, glucose management, and the role of bioactive compounds in cognitive and metabolic health. She is also passionate about lifestyle medicine and holds a Certificate in Health and Wellness from Harvard, reflecting her commitment to integrating evidence-based lifestyle approaches into public health research.

Suzana is deeply committed to mentoring and capacity building, and has supported researchers and clinicians across diverse sectors and career stages. Her broader interests span nutrition, sleep, physical activity, and nicotine use, with a strong emphasis on translating research into practice and fostering academic–industry partnerships that promote innovation and improve population health.
