Biography
Teemol Thomas is an Associate Tutor and a PhD Researcher at the School of Social Work. Her doctoral research focuses on understanding care work and caring practices prevalent among young carers within the cultural context of India.
Teemol's academic journey commenced with a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in History from Delhi University, India. She went on to pursue a Master of Arts in Social Work from the prestigious Tata Institute of Social Sciences, India. She specialises in working with Children and Families.
Teemol was a social worker with the RATI Foundation (formerly known as Prerana's Aarambh India Initiative) in Mumbai, India. In this capacity, Teemol provided support to children, young individuals, and families grappling with the aftermath of sexual violence.
She was also associated with research initiatives aimed at comprehending the nuanced experiences of children and youth in the online domain, shedding light on crucial issues concerning digital safety and well-being.
