Biography

Terry Barker is former Director of the Cambridge Centre for Climate Change Mitigation Research and will align strongly with the Tyndall Centre developing new research and publishing new papers. He has had deep and wide experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams concerned with climate change adaptation and mitigation, mainly from his 11 years as CLA in WG3 of IPCC's AR3 and AR4, 1996-2007. He was a member of the Core Team writing the Synthesis Report for AR3. His appointment comes at a time when we are strengthening our presence in Environmental Economics and the links to Tyndall.

Terry regards himself as a "Whole-systems scientist specialising in economics" and has pioneering and applied new techniques in scientific writing (lucidity) and structured participation. He has more recently become interested in social evolution as a component of "New Economics".
