Dr Raheel Hassan is a Lecturer in the School of Computing Sciences at University of East Anglia and a member of the Cyber Intelligence and Networks group. He completed his PhD in Network Security at Université de Franche-Comté in France, building on earlier qualifications in Computer Engineering and Communication Systems. His academic and professional career spans several countries, with prior roles in Pakistan, France, the USA, and Saudi Arabia. His expertise lies in computer networks, network security, and authentication frameworks.
Dr Hassan teaches across core areas including Computer Networks, Network Security, and Digital Logic Design. He has designed and implemented intrusion detection systems for cloud and grid computing, and developed novel graphical password authentication techniques. In addition to teaching and research, he plays a key role in student employability and placement initiatives as Placement Director and Course Director for MSc Cyber Security, and also contributes to university governance as a member of the Senate Student Discipline Committee.
