Xing Huang is currently a PhD candidate in the School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies. His PhD research project Exploring the Link Between Digital Activism, Slacktivism and Collective Identity: China's LGBTQ Activism and #Iamgay# on Weibo aims to understand Chinese digital activism practices through the lens of social movement studies. His key interests are media studies, social movement studies, and he's also interested in digital humanities and digital sociology.
