Yuzhen Zhu is a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Digital Business in the Innovation, Technology, and Operations Management Group at the Norwich Business School (NBS), University of East Anglia UEA. Prior to join the NBS, he is a postdoctoral research associate at the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM), University of Cambridge. His research interest lies in the business, management and organizational implications of emerging digital technologies (e.g., Quantum Technologies, Generative AI, and ICT platforms). Currently, he is researching and teaching in the domain of Information Systems and Digital Business on the topics including: Quantum Technologies, Digital Innovation/Transformation, Cross Boundary Collaborations, Information and Knowledge Management, and AI-human Interactions.
He primarily uses qualitative methods (eg., Grounded Theory, Case Studies, Ethnography), while also becomes increasingly intrigued to some quantitative/mixed approaches (eg., FsQCA, PLS-SEM). He is particularly interested in theoretical lens such as affordance theory, practice theory, sociomateriality, and multi-level perspective, within value co-creation contexts such as Living Labs and Industry Ecosystem, which allows him to capture how emerging digital technologies are collectively developed, adopted and diffused in organizations or society over time.
Prior to join Cambridge, He earned his PhD in information systems management from University of Sheffield. His research has been published on world-leading and internationally renowned journals such as Tourism Management and Information Technology & People, and other outlets such as book series and conferences. His collaboration is strongly interdisciplinary across academia and industry. He has served as reviewers for multiple top journals and conferences in information systems management field.
