£3962.38 - Bringing together the Liliesleaf Trust UK, ACTSA and CreativeUEA, this project saw the launch of a public exhibition on the anti-apartheid struggle to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the first democratic elections in South Africa. The exhibition will showcased the anti-apartheid art of the cartoonist and illustrator Norman Kaplan on campus, in the Enterprise Centre gallery space. Engaging with the themes of hope and action, while marking 2024's milestone of 30 years of democracy in South Africa, the exhibition was titled “All shall be afforded Dignity,” and consisted of 15 original lino-prints as well as a series of cartoons by Kaplan, including work that is part of the permanent collection of the Constitutional Court of South Africa.
