N2 - Using 1- and 2-dimensional NMR experiments and high-resolution mass spectrometry, a novel sesquiterpene, possessing a new skeleton, has been characterized from the n-hexane extract of the aerial parts of Pulicaria crispa (Asteraceae) as rel-2α,6α-dimethyltetracyclo-decal-3-en-2,12-diol-8α,13-olide and given the trivial name pulicrispiolide.
