An Investigation of Critical Success E-Readiness Assessment Factors in Saudi Arabia

Abstract

A global digital economy has emerged, and a transition to this knowledge-based economy has occurred in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In response to the new socioeconomic changes, Saudi Arabia continues to develop Information and Communication Technology (ICT) indicators as follows: the Political System, ICT Infrastructure, Economic and electronic commerce, Access to a Skilled Workforce and Knowledgeable People, the Culture and Local Content, E-Government, E-Education, E-Health, Gender in Saudi Arabia. This paper presents the crucial factors which have strong impact on the e-readiness assessment of Saudi Arabia. The main objectives are to make ICT accessible to the general public, and through it to improve the national economy. It also addresses the current situation of e-readiness development and the factors which influence it, together with any relevant researches on the development of any developing nation.
