Abstract
East Anglia has been in a focus by film and TV professionals for a long time with the launch of Anglia Television in 1959 and the filming of many famous films such as Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Stardust (2007), and television shows such as Tales of the Unexpected (1979-88). The current growth of media, film and high-end television productions in the UK requires a large number of highly skilled workers and state-of-the-art studio facilities. This intensive postdoctoral research, Anglia Film Studios Project, looks at how to connect the University of East Anglia with a high-end film and television Production Company as they look to establish a Film Studio and teaching academy in the Norwich region, East of England, UK.
The researcher uses his extensive film and television field experience in direction and production and combines his expertise with academic lens in this study, which offers insightful perspectives on a range of associated subjects and areas. A comprehensive approach has been used to collate the relevant information and to steer the direction of the research data, whilst building effective systems for the organisation and sharing with the department. A reflexive methodology has been used in this research accepting criticism and feedback reflectively from colleagues to improve the processes involved in producing the supporting data and the final report. The study sheds light on the possible collaboration models and highlights the subject areas that can be introduced.
