Awareness of Kill Switch Application among Mobile Phone Users

Abstract

Privacy concern can be a watershed in hampering the use of Mobile applications, e-commerce, and social networks. In recent years, the privacy concerns of mobile phone users have increased and become a vital challenge in the research and development of mobile applications and devices. New laws and procedures should be established and implemented with a specific end goal to improve the privacy of mobile phone users. The aim of this research is to analyze the awareness and pros and cons of kill switch application which is a mechanism to disable a device or program with or without user consent. An online survey is conducted to analyze the awareness of kill switch application among the users of cell phones. The result shows that people are not aware of this application and its usage.
