Abstract
Four novel clerodane diterpenes have been isolated from the leaves of Laetia procera. They were characterized by extensive use of HMBC spectroscopy as a mixture of rel-18(S),19(R)-diacetoxy-18,19-epoxy-2(R),7(S),16-trihydroxy-6(S)-myristoyloxy-5(R),8(R),9(S),10(R)-cleroda-3,12,14-triene and rel-18(S),19(R)-diacetoxy-18,19-epoxy-2(R),7(S),16-trihydroxy-6(S)-palmitoyloxy-5(R),8(R),9(S),10(R)-cleroda-3,12,14-triene and a mixture of rel-18(S),19(R)-diacetoxy-18,19-epoxy-2(R),6(S),16-trihydroxy-7(S)-myristoyloxy-5(R),8(R),9(S),10(R)cleroda-3,12,14-triene and rel-18(S),19(R)-diacetoxy-18,19-epoxy-2(R),6(S),16-trihydroxy-7(S)-palmitoyloxy-5(R),8(R),9(S),10(R)-cleroda-3,12,14-triene.
