Abstract

Fingerprint is the most useful and robust biometric technique in person identification and recognition. In this paper, various Minutia Cylindrical Codes (MCC) based fingerprint matching strategies have been discussed. There are two aspects of fingerprint biometrics that form the basis of accurate systems. The first aspect being good descriptors and the second being strong matching techniques; these two aspects are deeply coupled and have been evaluated using MCC descriptor. Different combinations of these strategies are empirically evaluated on different datasets by Biolabs. It was observed that the accuracy of matching is highly affected, given the variant strategies.
