Abstract

Gully growth expressed as increase in excavated volume was estimated from historical records, personal contacts and air photographs for single storms 1-20 yr and more than 20 yr in an area draining to the Unsweswe river in central Zimbabwe. Observed differences in gully growth are explained by a range of catchment and gully factors and predictive equations have been established for rates of gully growth
