Abstract
The article examines George Bernard Shaw's linking of Socrates and Joan of Arc, seeing them as Protestants before the Reformation. It is shown how Shaw in Saint Joan is able to maintain conflicting possibilities on stage, forcing the audience to decide where truth lies.
