Abstract

A series of Fe2(μ-SR)2(CO)6 complexes with a range of substituents have been prepared and characterised. This facile route provides improved access to pure ‘open’ Fe2(μ-SR)2(CO)6 systems with mono- and bis-substitution of PR3 ligands without using decarbonylation reagent. Comparisons of synthesis routes, solid-state structures, oxidative electrochemistry further insights into the chemistry of these systems have been reported.
