Abstract

Setup of a computational model of the oxidation of zirconium and cracking using peridynamics Determination of material properties, including oxygen diffusion coefficient, oxide fracture strain and oxygen concentrations and expansions of phases present Comparison of model predictions of oxide thickness, metaloxide interface roughness and crack pattern to experiment and suggestions of further factors needed.
