    Abstract

Three metabolites have been isolated from the aerial parts of Poliothrysis sinensis. One of these was the known compound poliothrysoside 2-(6-O-benzoyl-β-D-glucopyranosyloxy)-5-hydroxybenzyl alcohol. The other two compounds are novel cyclohexenone derivatives of poliothrysoside and have been given the trivial names poliothrysin 2-β-D-glucopyranosyloxy-5-hydroxybenzyl-1-hydroxy-2-oxo-5-cyclohexene carboxylate and poliothrysin benzoate 2-(6-O-benzoyl-β-D-glucopyranosyloxy)-5-hydroxybenzyl-1-hydroxy-2-oxo-5-cyclohexene carboxylate.
