Abstract
The structural basis of lectin-carbohydrate interactions has been an area of interest for many years. With a view to implementing new NMR approaches for studying such interactions we now report the synthesis of methyl 2-O-α-D-mannopyranosyl-α-D-mannopyranoside, a ligand for concanavalin A, from uniformly 13C-labelled D-glucose.
