title = "The Avant-Garde of Translating and Blaise Cendrars{\textquoteright}s “Acad{\'e}mie M{\'e}drano”: A Set of Reflections and Translations",
abstract = "This chapter proposes a model of translation that is a form of expression sui generis and whose horizon is the totality of a text{\textquoteright}s possible modes of being. Translating is thus an ever-ongoing experimental investigation whose concerns are inherently avant-garde, and include multibodied participation, duration, physiological involvement, prosthetic uses of language, the minoritarian and stuttering, the opacity of the signifier, performance, and simultaneity. Reflections on these various concepts and tendencies are enacted and tested in a short sequence of translations, with accompanying commentary, of Blaise Cendrars{\textquoteright}s “Acad{\'e}mie M{\'e}drano”.",
