Health inequalities, Social Determinants of Health, COVID-19 impact on inequalities

Chrissy is completing a PhD looking at socio-demographic patterns of child health pre- and post-COVID-19.  She is using a data modelling and machine learning approach to identify family, household and neighbourhood predictors of health for children in Norfolk.

She is completing her PhD part-time whilst working in Public Health Intelligence at Norfolk County Council, allowing her to work at the forefront of both research and local government, ensuring local policies are informed by her PhD research.

Chrissy has over nine years’ experience working in a Local Authority, in social care and public health.  Most recently she has worked collaboratively with a local NHS trust leading the analytics function for a Start for Life pilot study which provided early-years support to children from families with additional vulnerabilities. In addition, she was part of a small team during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting the epidemiological identification of outbreaks to contain the spread of the virus.
